Most of my best ideas occur to me when I bike or run. During these intimate moments, suddenly everything makes sense. Unfortunately, nothing is perfect. In spite of these fleeting moments of bliss and enlightenment the bike ride is at times unpleasant.

While trekking down the West Dyke Trail, I always get ambushed by swarms of flies.

They pop out of nowhere- right in front of me. Before I can dodge them, hundreds of the flies are tangled in my hair and plastered all over my body. These flies are like the moments in life where suddenly I get thrown off balance. They’re disconcerting and uncomfortable. Luckily, I manage to bike through without any serious harm.

This blog is a collection of artwork, articles, and other general commentary as I hike through life and deal with the flies that get stuck in my hair.
